Thank you to everyone for the beautiful Pentecost service on Sunday 28th May, whereby the wonderful message of Christ’s love was heard in English, German, Tok Pisin and Koine Greek!
Oscar was our lector, who read verses from the Bible Readings in English. Michael then read verses in German.
Helen read verses in Tok Pisin, one of three official languages of Papua New Guinea (and the most widely used language in the country).
Pastor then read verses in Koine Greek. Koine Greek, also known as Hellenistic Greek, common Attic, the Alexandrian dialect, Biblical Greek or New Testament Greek, was the common supra-regional form of Greek spoken and written during the Hellenistic period, the Roman Empire and the early Byzantine Empire.
